The Pavilion for Contemporary Art is the most important exhibition centre for contemporary art in Milan. Opened in 1954, it was completely destroyed in 1993 after an explosion ordered by the Mafia, and finally in 1996 re-opened to the public. The present building was designed by Ignazio Gardella and situated inside the old stables of Villa Reale, housing the Modern Art Gallery. In the large white halls you’ll find many modern and contemporary works.
