It's been one of the protagonists of Italian Futurism: Giacomo Balla is finally celebrated in a retrospective that bears his name. Until May 18 at Palazzo Reale in Milan.

Incredible but true: 37 years since last retrospective in Rome dedicated to Giacomo Balla, on of leader of Italian Futurism. Even more incredible that a city like Milan not have ever made it worthy tribute (which instead was made in 2006 with the other great exponent of Futurism, Umberto Boccioni).

Finally, however, has been remedied: the 2009 will be the year of the centenary of Futurism, and Milan is preparing the event with an exhibition anthology that traces the most prolific of Balla, or the first three decades of the twentieth century, thirty years in which the activity of the great painter, sculptor and designer of Turin is rediscovery.

At Royal Palace until 18 May. This initiative promoted by the Department of Municipal Culture, in collaboration with the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Contemporanea e Moderna di Roma. Five sections, divided by thematic areas, as a reminder of more than 200 works one of the pivotal figures of contemporary art, exact fifty years since his passing.
