
After the exhibition regarding Monet and the influence of oriental art in his painting, in Milan we speak again about Japan with an interesting initiative organized by Giancarlo Calza.
At the Royal Palace for the entire month of December will be hosted an exhibition entitled "Japan: 100 masterpieces in comparison", a show where they were gathered the most significant works of Japanese art in the Edo period (1615-1868), a crucial time for the Rising Sun land, as one that marked the transition from feudalism to the emergence of the bourgeoisie.
The triumph of color, the use of fine finishes in gold and silver, an always particular iconography and style designed to enhance the principles of aesthetics: all elements clearly visible not only in paintings but also in porcelain, pottery and in other precious objects of the time.
Hiroshige, Koetsu, Kiyonaga, Korin Sotatsu are some of the prominent names of artists who sign a hundred works on display, for what will be one of the highlights cultural appointments of the year-end in Milan.
