It is situated in the homonymous Palace of the 17th century, together with other cultural foundations (the Library, the Institute for Science and Literature, the Art Academy, the Astronomic Museum and the Botanical Garden), it is surely one of the most famous museums in Europe. Over 400 masterpieces bear witness to the Italian Art from the 14th to the 20th century. Some of the masterpieces: the Altar Piece of Federico da Montefeltro (by Piero della Franceca),The Dead Christ (by Andrea Mantegna), The Wedding of the Virgin Mary (Raphael), Christ at the Pillar (Bramante), The finding of St. Marcus’ body (Tintoretto), The Supper at Emmaus (Caravaggio), The Kiss (Hayez). Among the other artists: Bellini, Lotto, Tiziano, Rubens, El Greco and Caravaggio. The modern art is represented by the Collection Jesi, with works by Modigliani, Boccioni, Severini, Balla, Morandi, Braque, Picasso.
